Engagement Configuration - An Overview
Your configuration settings determine how Influxie helps grow your Instagram account. This guide shows you where to find these settings and how to use them effectively.
What are Configurations?
Your configuration settings control how Influxie interacts with Instagram on your behalf:
- What actions to perform (follow, like, etc.)
- Who to target (hashtags, specific accounts, or automatic category-based discovery)
- When to perform actions (session start time, limits, and run time)
- How to behave (timing, safety settings)
Think of these settings as your growth strategy - the rules that guide everything Influxie does.
Where to Find Configuration Settings
- From the Accounts page, select an account
- Click on the account to open its page
- Click the “Configurations” button near the top right of the screen
- You’ll see the configuration page with different tabs
Tip: After connecting a new account, you can click “Set up configurations” to get started quickly.
Understanding the Configuration Tabs
Settings are organized into tabs for easy navigation:
Engage Tab
What’s Inside:
- Follow and unfollow controls
- Feed interaction settings
- Targeting specific accounts
- Hashtag targeting (up to 20)
- A targeting mode — either Automatic or Manual
Engagement Mode: The Engage tab offers two ways to find your audience:
- Automatic — Influxie will find audiences within your niche. You pick up to 5 content categories that define your niche, and the bot discovers relevant accounts automatically.
- Manual — Choose exactly who you want to interact with. You specify the targeting yourself: specific accounts, follow/unfollow, feed, and hashtags.
Interactions Tab
What’s Inside:
- Photo, video, and carousel engagement settings
- Image watch time, video watch time, and carousel post limits
Use It For: Controlling how Influxie engages with the content it encounters (how long it views photos and videos, and how many carousel posts to engage with per session).
Session Tab
What’s Inside:
- Likes limit (mandatory) — maximum likes per session
- Maximum run time — 1–6 hours (required; the session won’t run without it)
- Reoccurring checkbox — a single daily schedule, all 7 days
- Start time — only if Reoccurring is enabled; uses your local timezone, whole hours only
Use It For: Keeping your account safe and controlling when the session runs
How Your Settings Work
Changes Save Automatically
There is no Save button. Settings autosave roughly half a second after you finish editing. However, changes only apply to future sessions - any currently running session will continue with its original settings.
Turning a Section Off: When you turn a whole section (for example, “Follow accounts”) off, Influxie asks you to confirm because turning a section off wipes that section’s data. You’ll need to re-enter it if you turn it back on later.
When a Session Starts:
- Influxie loads your current settings
- Follows those settings throughout the session
- Respects all your limits and targeting preferences
- Shows you what was accomplished in the session report
Tips for Success
Start Simple:
- Enable one action type at a time
- Use conservative limits at first
- Review results before expanding
Think About Your Goals:
- Want more followers? Focus on the Engage tab
- Want to control your interaction type? Focus on the Interactions tab
- Want to stay safe? Focus on the Session tab limits
Use the Help Icons: Every setting has a (?) icon that explains what it does and recommends safe values.

When do my changes take effect? Changes apply to the next session you start. Currently running sessions use their original settings.
Can I change settings later? Absolutely! You can update your settings anytime. Changes only affect future sessions.
