Session Tab Settings
Learn how to set safe per-session action limits, configure a run time, and protect your Instagram account.
Setting Session Limits and Safety
Limits in Influxie are per session, not per day. Each session you run gets its own budget of actions. This guide explains how the limits work, why the Maximum run time is essential, and how to keep your account safe.
Where to Find Limits and Safety Settings
- Go to your account page
- Click “Configurations”
- Select the “Session” tab
The Session tab contains: Likes limit, Maximum run time, Reoccurring, and Start time. (Follow and Unfollow limits live in the Engage tab, also on a per-session basis.)
Autosave: There is no Save button. Every field saves itself automatically about half a second after you stop editing. Any change you make only affects future sessions — it never changes a session that is already running.
Limits Are Per Session, Not Per Day
Likes, follows, and unfollows each get a per-session budget:
- There is no daily total and no shared daily pool.
- Limits do not reset at midnight.
- Running a second session the same day gives you a fresh per-session budget — sessions do not share or deplete one another’s limits.
If you set a Likes limit of 50, that means up to 50 likes per session, every session.
Likes Limit
What It Does: Sets the maximum number of likes the bot will perform in a single session. Influxie keeps this within Instagram’s safety limits.
Mandatory: You must set a Likes limit. It is a required field on the Session tab.
Recommended starting points (per session):
| Account Age | Conservative | Moderate | Aggressive |
|---|---|---|---|
| New (< 1 month) | 20-30 | 30-50 | Not recommended |
| Young (1-3 months) | 30-50 | 50-100 | 100-150 |
| Established (3-6 months) | 50-100 | 100-200 | 200-300 |
| Mature (6+ months) | 100-200 | 200-400 | 400-600 |
Best Practices:
- Start very conservative (20-30 likes per session)
- Increase gradually over weeks
- Monitor for Instagram warnings
- Reduce immediately if you encounter issues
Pro Tip: It’s better to start too low and increase gradually than to start too high and risk account restrictions.
Follow and Unfollow limits are set per session in the Engage tab.
Maximum Run Time
What It Does: Sets how long a single session may last.
Range: Between 1 and 6 hours.
Required: This is a mandatory field. The bot will not run without a Maximum run time set. If it is missing, Influxie warns you to set it before starting a session.
Recommended starting points (hours):
| Account Age | Run Time Per Session |
|---|---|
| New accounts | 1-2 hours |
| Established accounts | 2-4 hours |
| Mature accounts | up to 6 hours (the hard ceiling) |
Why It Matters:
- Caps each session at a safe length
- One session can run per account at a time
- Pairs with the Start time (when Reoccurring is on) to define your daily schedule
Safety warning (shown on the Session tab): “Do not use Instagram on any devices during these hours to avoid account suspension. Influxie recommends running your sessions while you sleep.”
Read this as: schedule sessions for the hours you are asleep, and keep Instagram closed on your other devices during that window. There is no separate “working hours” time-range setting — scheduling is just a Start time plus this Maximum run time.
For the full scheduling mechanics (Reoccurring, Start time, local timezone, whole hours), see Scheduling Sessions.
Gradually Increasing Limits
New accounts need to “warm up” their activity gradually. Because limits are per session, these are per-session starting points:
Week 1:
- Follows: 10/session
- Unfollows: 5/session
Week 2:
- Follows: 15/session
- Unfollows: 8/session
Week 3:
- Follows: 20/session
- Unfollows: 10/session
Week 4:
- Follows: 25/session
- Unfollows: 15/session
Week 8:
- Follows: 40/session
- Unfollows: 20/session
Continue Gradual Increases:
- Increase by 10-20% each week
- Monitor for warnings or issues
- Pause increases if problems occur
Signs Limits Are Too High:
- “Action blocked” messages
- Sudden drop in engagement
- Session errors increasing
- Instagram security warnings
Monitoring Your Account Health
Daily Checks:
- Review session completion status
- Check for errors or warnings
- Monitor follower count changes
Weekly Assessments:
- Compare week-over-week growth
- Review session outcomes
- Adjust limits if needed
Red Flags:
- Action blocked warnings
- Sudden drops in reach/engagement
- Increased session failures
If You See Red Flags:
- Immediately stop all sessions
- Reduce all per-session limits by 50%
- Wait 48-72 hours before resuming
- Resume with conservative limits
Common Mistakes to Avoid
Mistake 1: Starting Too High
- New accounts using 100+ follows per session
- Solution: Always start conservative
Mistake 2: Increasing Too Fast
- Doubling limits week to week
- Solution: Increase by 10-20% weekly maximum
Mistake 3: Ignoring Warnings
- Continuing despite “action blocked”
- Solution: Stop immediately and reassess
Mistake 4: Unfollowing Too Aggressively
- Unfollowing more than following
- Solution: Maintain positive ratios

Common Questions
What happens if I reach my limit mid-session? Influxie stops performing that action for the rest of the session. Other actions continue if they haven’t reached their per-session limits.
Can I change limits mid-session? Changes apply to the next session, not the currently running one.
Do limits reset at midnight? No. Limits are per session, not per day, so there is no midnight reset. Each new session gets its own fresh budget.
Do sessions share limits? No. Each session has its own per-session budget for likes, follows, and unfollows.
Can I run multiple sessions in one day? One session can run per account at a time. With Reoccurring on, that is one session per day at your Start time.
What if I get an “action blocked” message? Stop all sessions immediately, wait 48-72 hours, reduce per-session limits by 50%, and resume cautiously.
